Memories of Melodies

"Memories of Melodies" is the music and cultural education component of PROJECT LANGUSIK. It is comprised of five components that span the breadth of neurological development in youth from birth through university.

Our education is a novel approach to knowledge acquisition, cultural reclamation, and social learning that embraces a uniquely human approach and more traditional sense of learning. Critical thinking and a wholistic human education are the central to Memories of Melodies. It is much less formal music education that it is musical understanding, learning, and appreciation. The teaching methods we employ are those that invoke a traditional learning style of active participation, engagement, and hands on learning that results in a multifaceted approach to help children advance and grow to their maximum potential.

So much of modern education focuses too heavily on STEM and the semantics of standardized tests and metrics. While the STEM fields are important, we feel as though children lack the most important lesson in education; Learning how to Learn. Through Memories of Melodies, children will grow as more complete individuals more capable of navigating and excelling in society and the world because they will be cultivating the tools and the self-assurance necessary to solve any problem; this is the hallmark of a good education.

Memories of Melodies is comprised of five components which cover age 0 throughout adolescence.

4) High School Program

5) University Program

While a child can participate at any part of the program at any point in time, the program is structured to lead a child from the moment they enter the world in their musical awakening through an in depth understanding of ethnomusicology and biology of music; all with the central focus of decolonizing the mind, liberating the spirit, and transcending geographical boundaries. Through this program we reclaim cultural autonomy and help the next generation to flourish.
